Why participate?

I have ideas and solutions

Innovation and productivity are the drivers of economic growth. They thrive where diverse networks of businesses, ideas, people and organizations interact; consider the Ideas Festival as the collision of the minds that instigates change.

I care about the future of Atlantic Canada

Atlantic Canada's aging demographic means young people need to increasingly take on positions of leadership in business and government. The need to collaborate has never been greater to build that critical mass required to attract foreign investment, build economies of scale and repatriate our talent.

The world is changing rapidly everyday

The rapid pace of economic and social change, including the rise of developing countries, is forcing us to more effectively stimulate, communicate and apply new ideas. Importantly, there is no consensus around which ideas should be used.

2013 Speaker's list

Robert Moreau

RobertMoreau 16Vice president and Chief Financial Officer, Assomption Life and President of the Conseil Économique du NB

Over the course of a progressive career in the insurance and manufacturing industries,
Robert Moreau has learned that leadership takes more than possessing expertise in a particular field. A leader must also be able to navigate complex organizational dynamics, inspire trust, build confidence, and possess the capacity to change the course of action in response to evolving organizational needs.

His diverse experience over the last decade, with executive level responsibilities, provided Robert with the opportunity to demonstrate all of these strengths.  In his current role as the Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer at Assumption Life, Robert has played an instrumental part in charting and executing a strategy to bolster the organization’s financial accountability, drive transformation, building synergy across the organizational teams, and usher in a spirit of innovation.

Lauded for his perseverance, transparency, and steadfast integrity, Robert takes great pride and passion to produce results and building individual capacity through mentorship.  He strongly believes that in order to ensure effective and sustainable leadership, one’s well being must embrace environmental, economic, social and moral dimensions.

This dedication and commitment to excellence was demonstrated when he accepted the role of New Brunswick Chair for the 2012 Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference.  He is also the current Chair of the Conseil économique du Nouveau-Brunswick, the largest francophone business network in Atlantic Canada with close to 1,000 members.
