Atlantic Canada's aging demographic means young people need to increasingly take on positions of leadership in business and government. The need to collaborate has never been greater to build that critical mass required to attract foreign investment, build economies of scale and repatriate our talent.

The world is changing rapidly everyday

The rapid pace of economic and social change, including the rise of developing countries, is forcing us to more effectively stimulate, communicate and apply new ideas. Importantly, there is no consensus around which ideas should be used.

Vice President, Human Resources, HB Studios, Lunenburg

Melanie Williams joined HB Studios in 2005 to set up and evolve the HR department.  She has had the opportunity to also be involved in business development and public relation aspects of the business.  Prior to her joining the Studio, she worked at High Liner Foods Inc.’s corporate office for over 4 years, where she worked as Organizational Development Business Partner for both Corporate and Sales & Marketing.  She is a Subject Matter Expert in Performance Management and Recruitment.  She graduated in 2001 with honours from Saint Mary’s University, majoring in Marketing and Global Business Management.  She had the opportunity to complete part of her curriculum in Xiamen, China, a long way from her native home of Deer Lake, Newfoundland.
